The BearTecs were formed in the fall of 2012, thanks to the dedicated support of teachers, parents, community mentors, and school officials.  This team of 14 students worked long hours after school in a small classroom with nothing but basic hand tools, a local grant, and a teacher’s credit card.  On March 23^rd, these students made history as they were a part of the winning alliance at the FIRST Robotics Dallas Regional.  They also won the Rookie Inspiration Award for their outstanding spirit. The BearTecs advanced to World Championships in St. Louis. There they got to collaborate with youth from countries such as Brazil, Israel, and Japan, as well as represent Texas with pride. The BearTecs are already recruiting new teammates, as well as planning workshops and community events for the 2013-2014 season.
